Happy Monday and I hope you had a good weekend! Mine went by too fast and I can’t believe it’s already over. I woke up to 30 degree weather on Sunday and all I wanted to do was hide under my blanket and stay there. Your girl was not made for this cold especially not in April! I managed to get myself up though and the moment I put on one of my A-line skirts and some heels, I had a pep in my step and was inspired to write this post. Isn’t it amazing how the right outfit can do wonders to your mood?
I don’t know why I don’t give A-line skirts more love but I should! They are so feminine and flattering on most body types, and can be styled for any season. I gravitate towards the fuller, high-waisted and midi length styles, but depending on your height, a different length might work better for you. Right now, I own a couple classic black ones and some fun ones, but I’m looking to add a tulle one or two to my wardrobe.
Classic A-line skirts
I’m wearing this classic black one with a chambray shirt for a casual look. I generally prefer it paired with a fitted top or a crop top for a teeny peek of skin, but this works too.
My skirt is old , but I found something similar here. It doesn’t have the see-through detail mine has, but it comes in various colors and it has pockets. Win!
Before I checked the weather, I had on these cute purple minimalist Steve Madden sandals but had to ditch them. I changed to pumps to cover my toes but I refuse to wear a coat in April *insert eyeroll!
Colorful A-line skirts
In addition to the classic black look above, you can opt for something more fun like this colorful one from Chicwish. This wasn’t part of my original post plan so forgive the lack of photos, but I always get compliments when I wear it and I had to share. I love that it has so many colors because it gives you endless options for tops, accessories, etc.
Tulle A-line skirts
This is one area where I’m definitely lacking. I’ve never been into Tulle because I always imagine looking like a faux ballerina. Lol. I’m seeing some options that are making me reconsider though and I might actually style this one for an upcoming wedding. Think I can pull it off? Pray for me lol. Let’s hope it looks great in person when it arrives!
I know A-line skirts are nothing new, but if you’re like me and haven’t given them a lot of love, I hope this inspires you to give it a try. Thanks so much for reading and don’t forget to subscribe to receive new post alerts using the form in the sidebar!
